Friends and Forebearers: Meet Kathleen

This my good friend and really big fan, Kathleen.  Nobody gives me as many treats or appreciates my tricks more than she does. Here’s what she said about me when one of my owners caught up with her for a quick Q&A:

What’s your favorite thing about Woofington?

She’s really cute and she’s really good at listening.

If you had to describe Woofington to someone who didn’t know her, what would you tell them?

Her colors are black, white and brown. She’s cute and she’s happy all the time.

What about Woofington’s attraction to treats?

If you say “speak,” she gives this little growl. If you say “give me your paw,” she’ll give you her paw or high-five it. And, if you tell her to “catch it,” you can throw the treat in the air and she’ll catch it.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

“I watch my dogs.  They throw themselves into everything they do; even their sleeping is wholehearted.  They aren’t waiting for a better tomorrow, or looking back at their glory days. Following their example, I’m trying to stick to the present.” – dog quote by Abigail Thomas, A Three Dog Life

Maddie is Amazing: a super serious project about dogs and physics

Don’t miss Maddie the Coonhound, http://maddieonthings.com who is willing to perch in no end of precarious poses, including atop a basketball hoop and a motorscooter. What we pets won’t do for love! The photos of Maddie, by Theron Humphrey, are great and you can order prints and shirts.

Pet-Safe Gardening Tips

I love the outdoors, but there are some plants and products that should be off limits for me and my feline friends, including cocoa mulch, azaleas and pesticides — just to name a few. The ASPCA has a complete Guide to Pet-Safe Gardening on its website: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/pet-care-tips/pet-safe-gardening.aspx?utm_source=email_promotion&utm_medium=email&utm_content=PetSafeGardening;utm_campaign=SpringChecklist2012a
