Superbowl XLVI: Not Just An Excuse For Snacks

I’ll be watching the Puppy Bowl VIII tomorrow, too. It’s back for its 8th consecutive year — all-star, adoptable dogs. Then we’ll switch to Superbowl XLVI where dogs will rock the commercials. VW has already released “The Bark Side,” dogs singing the theme from Star Wars, and for the Superbowl they’ll show, “The Dog Strikes Back,” featuring an Aussie/St. Bernard mix. Anheiser-Busch will have two ads featuring dogs, one a Dalmation, the other is rescue mutt. And there will be dogs in sneaks, thanks to Skechers. Subaru, which has paired with the ASPCA and features posters of dogs in a canoe as part of its “Dog tested. Dog approved.” campaign, won’t have a Superbowl ad. Instead, it recommends that owners take the Game Day Dog Walk Pledge. I like that idea!

You go girl. I’ve got my money on you. Years ago several of ladies, looking to avoid all the hoot and holler met for a day of K9 competition. Fastest recall, highest jump, fastest relay team and of course, lots of goodies for dogs too. My Fancy won almost everything requiring fastest time. She still would given the chance.
